The history of America's lighthouses is intricately tied to the growth of the United States. In order for the colonies to succeed, they needed lighthouses to guide ships so that commerce and settlers could safely land and build the nation. Ten lighthouses were completed during the colonial area; this is their story. Presented by Anne Puppa. Free.
