Looking to ride more confidently on technical terrain?
This co-ed, 3-hour clinic is designed for riders who are ready to refine their uphill and downhill skills through focused practice and real-time coaching on the trail. The session begins with targeted skill development, followed by a guided trail ride to apply what you’ve learned in a supportive environment.
You’ll work on:
- Body Positioning: Refine your body position to maintain traction and to move with your bike
- Downhill Skills: Braking, body position, and how to safely roll drops to clear more technical sections of trail
- Uphill Skills: How to change your body position and use wheel lifts to tackle uphill obstacles
Prerequisite: You should be comfortable riding green and most blue trails. For example, you’re able to ride Evergreen Mountain or Elk Meadows without too much difficulty (you may still be walking some of the more technical sections). This is not a beginner class - please look into our co-ed MTB 101 next spring if you would like to take an intro class.
Equipment: A well-maintained mountain bike with flat or clipless pedals and functioning front and rear brakes is required. A dropper post and hydraulic disk brakes are highly recommended. Helmets are mandatory; gloves and eye protection are strongly encouraged. Bring water, snacks, and anything else you need to feel comfortable on the trail.
This class will meet at the Wulf Rec Center parking lot near tennis courts.
