No Experience - Beginner $100-$150 Materials and Studio Fees** Most people have heard of blacksmithing, but have you heard of ‘whitesmithing’? When a customer wanted a more elevated finish than “off the anvil,” the whitesmith would refine the surface and add ornamental flourishes with files and other tools. Give this trade a try for yourself! In this workshop, participants will begin by forging a ladle, with an emphasis on precision and effective material use. We will then proceed with filing and layout demonstrations and design discussions. You should expect to leave with at least one forged and filed object. Forging fundamentals will also be covered; all levels are welcome! **Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
