Touchstone is opening the blacksmith studio two nights per week in September to any Touchstone Member who has taken a blacksmithing class with us. During open studio nights, you can use the forges, grinders, and other tools in the workshop to complete your own blacksmithing projects. Space is limited and must be reserved on our website. Open studio fees cover fuel and shop consumables; you can bring your own steel, use steel from the scrap pile (free!), or purchase steel from our store. This is a great time to finish projects from earlier classes, begin an independent project, or explore a new aspect of blacksmithing using our fully furnished studio. Open studio nights are supervised by a studio tech who can answer questions about using forging equipment safely. *THIS IS NOT AN INSTRUCTIONAL CLASS* STUDIO SUPERVISOR WILL BE AROUND DURING OPEN STUDIO HOURS TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS AND HELP WITH ANY TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE.
