Topics Covered

This class will give you the opportunity to study pen drawings by Rubens and Van Gogh- they mastered the lines and patterns capable of bringing subjects to life on paper. You will learn how to create a variety of lines to give the illusion of depth, form, and texture. Techniques introduced will be cross-contour drawing, hatching and cross-hatching, and weighted line. You will have the opportunity to draw a variety of subjects including still-lifes, flowers, landscapes, animals, and abstract designs. Finally, this class will also be a celebration of color! Learn how to introduce contemporary and colorful gel pens to your practice. This class is sure to inspire a new collection of dynamic drawings!
