This class will introduce you to a variety of historical painting techniques. You will learn the difference between classical, academic approaches and more expressive, impressionistic approaches to help you begin to discover your own individual style. You will learn to arrange elements on your canvas for dynamic compositions and a pleasing design. This class will give you the opportunity to study skin tones, practice color mixing, and explore palette combinations. You will learn about the structure of facial features- how interesting shapes created by light reveal details unique to your subject. With lots of practice and play, you will develop the skills to start your portrait painting adventure!
