Description
This class is like the first day of fourth grade when you had a new tray of watercolors: your yellow didn't look brown, your red hadn't turned purple, and your blue and green hadn't changed places! You'll develop your watercolor painting skills while studying composition and color mixing-- all without the kid next to you spilling water on your painting .
Topics Covered
Objectives of this class include an introduction to watercolor vocabulary, preliminary sketching techniques, color mixing, and an introduction to the elements and principles of design. As an introduction to watercolor tools and techniques, this class will include abstract and representational approaches to the medium. Learn to use saran wrap, salt, alcohol, and resists as you build your paintings. Gain confidence in suggesting light and form through transparent layers of pigment. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and individual guidance from the instructor.
