Silversmithing: Skill Building Class- Instructor: Sharon Williams
Six weeks, Monday's, 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Aug. 18th - Oct 6th (no class Sept 1st and Sept 22nd)
The objective of each six week class is to build new skills to enable you to fabricate your jewelry designs.
This six week course will focus on embellishing with metal texturing techniques such as hammering, stamping and using a rolling mill. Additionally, we will create simple flowers, leaves and shapes to add to your ring or pendent.
Students are responsible for purchasing their silver for the project. Estimated cost of materials $50.00 to $100.00. In the first class, we will discuss the types of silver and other materials needed for you project, including where to purchase them and how to select the best options for your designs.
Prerequisites for the class are Silversmithing 101 or a prior silversmithing class at CERA. If you are proficient at soldering, reach out to me to discuss enrollment in the class.
If you do not have tools, we have a tool package rental which includes a Butane torch for $50.00. TOOL RENTAL is available on the 'Register Page' under 'Classes & Events'.
