MAKING MYTH LOCATION: Upper School Classroom GRADES: Middle and High School DESCRIPTION: Myths and legends are prevalent in our modern media—from Disney movies featuring mythological characters like Hercules, to manga about the Chinese zodiac. In this project, students will get to explore how myths and folktales are reinterpreted and retold today. Throughout the week, students will view and discuss mythology from various ancient cultures and explore modern reinterpretations of those myths from various perspectives. They will then be able to take all their knowledge and create their own interpretations of ancient myths and legends! Students will be able to choose any medium for their final project, from comics to digital art to music, and everything in between.
