The bowl contests involve out-buzzing opponents as teams go head-to-head in matches to answer questions. We will practice and study every week in preparation for these tournaments, where it not only comes down to what you know, but also how quickly you buzz in. Quiz Bowl tournaments will occur every 4-6 weeks, and our teams will compete against teams from around the Bay Area with chances to qualify for nationals. Topics for quiz bowl include science, literature, history, geography, art, music, sports, current events, and pop culture. Science Bowl participants will prepare all season to compete in the regional tournament in winter. High school will have a couple other additional invitational tournaments they can participate in. Topics for science bowl include physics, math, chemistry, physical sciences, and biology. (Due to the limited spots allowed for Science Bowl, there will be a tryout to qualify for the team later in the fall.)
