BASIS’s award-winning FIRST Robotics team is in its second season and is looking for more passionate learners. There are no prerequisites! Students who join the team will undergo intensive training with our veteran team members and work together to build multiple full-sized competition robots. Students will learn about CAD, mechanical design principles, and advanced machinery such as a CNC router. In the build season, students will work together under a six-week time period to design, build, and program a robot for a unique game prompt. We’ll compete with other robots at regional events that are also striving for a spot at the FIRST World Championships. Students will be encouraged to work with their teammates and take leadership positions, all while making an impact on their community. You won’t regret it. We meet weekly at school, and host weekend workshops to work with power tools and build.
