Paint like the old masters and discover the beauty of still life paintings!

Join local artist Angelo Alba as he guides you through the fundamentals of painting still life with oil using the same methods as masters such as Rembrandt, Leffel, and van Gogh. Develop skills in observing and rendering inanimate objects and bring them to life though techniques like composition, light and shadows, mixing colours, and brush strokes.

All materials and supplies are provided in this program, but participants are asked to bring an apron and a meaningful object from home that they would like to bring to life on canvas.

Each participant will leave this program with two paintings:

1. A small canvas featuring an object or collection of objects supplied by the instructor that everyone in the class will paint. This painting will be used to practice the painting concepts introduced in class.

2. A personalized, one-of-a-kind oil painting on a 14" x 18" canvas featuring a meaningful object or collection of objects that the participant brings to class. Take what you learned on the first painting and apply it to your masterpiece!
