Description
Take a guided paddle through a forest preserve. Bring your own canoe or kayak to this free program or rent one for $20 per person. Ages 12 and up; under 18 with an adult. To register by phone instead, call 630-933-7248.
Meet at the main parking lot off Schick Road, 0.2 mile west of Thorn Road (Click the link to open a map.) Bring water, sunscreen, bug spray, and extra shoes and a towel in case you get wet.
Rentals include kayaks (300-pound capacity), paddles and personal floatation devices. Private watercraft must have one well-fitting Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device for each passenger and either an Illinois water usage stamp or state registration.
