Unwind your creativity in this inventive encaustic series where string takes center stage. Over four weeks, we’ll explore the dynamic relationship between wax and fiber through a variety of mixed media techniques. Begin with String Line Abstractions, using dipped or embedded twine to create bold, linear compositions. In Stitching into Wax, experiment with embroidery floss or wire to sew, wrap, and pierce the wax surface. Week three dives into Tension & Movement, where string is pulled and arranged to create kinetic energy across your panels. We’ll finish with Mixed Media Narratives, blending string, image transfers, and wax to craft textured visual stories. Perfect for artists eager to push the boundaries of encaustic work through play, layering, and storytelling.
