This 5-game league is the perfect way to introduce your child to basketballand get them excited for Jodie Harrison Basketball! This league willemphasize learning the rules and fundamentals of basketball.
Volunteer Coaches:

• Volunteer coaches are needed for each team and are the backbone of our league!
• Volunteer coaches assist on practice days with Breakaway Basketball and manage their team on games day, team communications, etc.
• Team practice times are based on volunteer coach availability.
• A coaches meeting is scheduled for Wednesday October 15th at 6:00pm at The Community House.
• 3 coaches per team max

Team Formation:While we encourage a competitive spirit in all players and coaches, all league decisions are made with the best interest of the majority of children involved. We do make every attempt to place children on a team with at least some of their schoolmates. The Recreation Supervisor will be responsible for selecting all teams and all final team placement decisions. We do not guarantee any coach, team, friend or practice time requests.
Teams will be constructed using the following criteria:

• 10 children per roster max
• What school they attend
• # of boys and girls per team (while taking school into consideration)
• Having a volunteer coach from your child's school gives the Recreation Supervisor the best opportunity to keep more children from your child's school together.
• We do not split 1 or 2 children from their school unless requested by parents. The lowest split and is considered being with some children from your child's school is 3 children from the same school.

League Schedule (Games & Practices):One practice and one game per week commitment. Information is subject to change. Schedules will be released October 17th.
Practices:

• Take place Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning the week of 10/20 at The Community House. Practice Days and Time slots listed below. Teams are assigned to 1 hour practice slot, 1 day per week.
• Kindergarten Days/Times: Tuesdays OR Thursdays 4:00-5:00pm
• 1st Grade Days/Times: Tuesdays 5:00-6:00pm or 6:00-7:00pm OR Thursdays 5:00-6:00pm
• Practices are led by Breakaway Basketball coaches with the help of Volunteer Parent Coaches.
• We do NOT guarantee a specific practice day/time. Practice times are determined by volunteer coach availability.

Games:

• Take place at The Community House on Saturday's starting November 1st.
• Games are every hour on the hour from 9:00-2:00pm, game are rotated between all teams.
• Breakaway Basketball Coaches ref games each Saturday. Volunteer coaches manage their team, bench, subs, etc.
• Each team is guaranteed 5 games
