Interested in a career as a veterinarian or working with animals? Spend the day at a real veterinary clinic helping Dr. Ima Stumped solve two patient cases! You’ll take on the role of a junior vet as you examine symptoms, suggest diagnostic tests, interpret results, and recommend treatment plans. Meet our furry “patients” for the day: Tinkle Toes, a golden-mix dog with urinary problems, and I-lean, a rescued kitten with a limp and a mystery belly. Campers will get hands-on experience using veterinary tools like stethoscopes, microscopes, and ultrasound (on a simulated bladder), view real x-rays and lab results, and tour a surgical suite. You’ll also practice bandaging, splinting, and even try suturing techniques on your own stuffed animal patient (bring one from home!). This one-day camp offers a fun, behind-the-scenes look at the world of veterinary medicine and the wide range of careers in animal care—from vet tech to radiology to surgery. It’s perfect for animal lovers who are curious about future career possibilities! Safety Clothing Requirements: students must wear long pants, closed-toe shoes Please Note: To ensure equitable access, we kindly ask that each educator limits their initial registration to two externship opportunities. This will allow as many participants as possible to take advantage of these experiences.
