There are art books, then there are artistic books. Join this class to learn the basics of creating artistic books for journaling, as conversation pieces, or as gifts. Learn how to use simple folds and hand stitching to inspire your creativity.
Topics Covered
In this course we will jump into the bookmaking process by creating simple books through folding techniques such as zines, lotus folds, and crown binding. We will learn paper options, folding, and gluing. In a relaxed and creative environment, each week will introduce a new bookmaking adventure concluding with an intro to stitched Japanese booklets and options for adding hard covers to your books. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations and individual assistance from a supportive instructor.
