Description
Try out one of our hottest classes! Hot Glass 1 is the perfect introduction into both hollow work and solid sculpting. This class will focus on developing your skills to manipulate hot glass through off-hand blowing. After learning the keys to a strong foundation, students will better understand the medium and the possiblities of glass art.
Topics Covered
Beginning with the basics we will focus on understanding the effects of heat, centripetal force, and gravity that are the building blocks for mastering the material. Off-hand glass working is like a dance, requiring you to develop muscle memory and rhythm in order for you to work efficiently and with ease. Our goal is to have you become familiar enough with the timing and steps involved to advance more complicated forms in Glass II.
