Designed to make you fall in love with weaving, this 4-week class will have you weaving day 1. You’ll learn how to thread a loom, choose the perfect fibers, and unleash your inner artist with colors and patterns galore.

• Brief history of weaving and how weaving developed around the world in different forms
• Examine yarn types (wool, cotton, synthetics) and characteristics (burn test)
• Weaving terminology
• Loom parts and tools
• Basic structure of plain weave interlacement
• Resources for inspiration and learning more about weaving: books, magazines, web sites, etc.
• Teach simple project planning
• Set up and thread table loom
• Teach about proper beat for balanced weave, how to create good selvedge, experiment with yarns and plain weave structure.
