In honor of Birdability Week, join Indy Parks and Outdoor Afro-Indianapolis for a Big Sit event to bring together birdwatchers of all abilities. No need to hike or walk, just come by, have a seat, and let the birds come to you. This is a drop-in event so come by shelter #3 anytime between 10:00am and 1:00pm. It will be a chance to meet other birders, see and identify various birds, and get out and enjoy nature. Binoculars and field guides will be provided. We encourage you to bring your own chair if you like. No experience necessary

Birdability Week is a celebration of birders with disabilities and other health concerns, as well as an opportunity to share resources and ideas to help the birding community become accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to everybody.Outdoor Afro celebrates and inspires Black connections and leadership in nature. This national not-for-profit organization reconnects Black people to our lands, water, and wildlife through outdoor education, recreation, and conservation. While this event centers Black connections in nature, all are welcome to attend this event with respect and compassion for each other.
