Description
You are invited to a guided walk on the beautiful trails of Paul Ruster Park. Spending time outdoors can have many benefits that include stress relief, depression and anxiety relief, improved sleep and relaxation, immune system boosting, a sense of place and empathy, cognitive development, improved mental performance and creativity. This is also a great opportunity to talk about native plants and how important they are to our local pollinators. Paying attention to nature is a true form of mindfulness for children, as noted in a recent National Geographic publication that stresses the need for kids to spend more time outside! This activity is suitable for most ages and abilities. No special knowledge or experience is needed. Come as you are and just be yourself!
Participants should wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, sunscreen and bug spray if needed, and bring a water bottle.
