Topics Covered
This class will start with the basic history of encaustic painting, followed by an introduction to the materials. Encaustic 1 offers a traditional and sequential approach to the medium. You will gain confidence as lesson objectives build throughout the course. Objectives include color mixing, brush applications, layering, composition, and building forms. You will have the opportunity to work abstractly and representationally in this class. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations and individual guidance from the instructor.
