Take your creativity for a spin as you learn how to turn wood on a lathe! You'll explore tool and wood selection, chucking options, sanding, and finishes as you make spindles for handles, furniture legs, or simple bowls.
Topics Covered
During the course you will gain basic woodturning skills, learning to prepare wood block for mounting and turning, selecting and prepare lathe tools, and gain experience turning wood.
Supplies
Students will be responsible for providing wood for projects. Cost is dependent on scope of project and wood selected. Expect to spend about $75, and many items can be sourced locally. Student will be responsible for hardware, such as hinges, knobs, and decorative items or similar. Basic shop materials will be provided.
