Description
Louis DeGrazia has been teaching theology courses at the Senior Center since 2006 and has repeatedly said it is his last class; however, he had a conversation, which has encouraged him to teach the class, "The Faith of an Atheist." When I (Louis DeGrazia) asked my son if I should venture to teach another class, he said yes, and I know what it should be. What is that, I replied. A course on your own theology was his immediate response. But I have never done that, so he said it's time, then. But why would I do that? I questioned. Because for 19 years you have been posing questions in classes, and now it's time for them to question you. What I propose to do is share with you my theological beliefs and how I arrived at them. You will surely have adopted different theological postures for your personal life. What I am asking you to do is write down questions you would like to ask me, either about why I believe as I do or how I came to hold that view. My goal is for us to understand each other, never to convince or persuade. My purpose is to accept each other more fully as we learn from each other.Instructor: Louis DeGrazia
