About this event
What’s it really like to make the leap from high school to college? In this course, you will get an inside look at the opportunities and challenges of university life. From dorm living to dining halls, from navigating a syllabus to talking with professors, this class offers practical tips to help students feel ready and confident for the transition ahead. Through interactive discussions, role-play activities, and hands-on exercises, students will explore the differences between high school and college expectations; practice real-world skills like time management, note-taking, and communicating with faculty; discover strategies for balancing academics, social life, and independence; and bust common myths about college life while learning what to really expect. This is not a lecture; it’s a lively, engaging session where you will share ideas, play through realistic scenarios, and walk away with tools to succeed in your first year of college and beyond. Note: This course is most appropriate for high school juniors and seniors.
