Overview: This course is an introduction to basic woodworking and assembly. In this class you will build a functional and beautiful planter box out of pressure treated pine. This workshop will cover safe power tool use. The skills learned in this course form a foundation for rough carpentry. We will discuss the basics of selecting lumber for your outdoor project. Project Description: At Hammerstone, beautifying the city is a community effort. This one day skills intensive students will build a functional and beautiful planter box. All planters built will be used for beautifying our community. This workshop will cover safe power tool use and choosing wood for your outdoor projects. The skills learned in this course form a foundation for rough carpentry. We will discuss the basics of selecting lumber for your outdoor project. All planters built in this class will be used in a community beautification process. Students under 18 may attend with parental permission.
