About this event
In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of blacksmithing while forging a simple hook. Using heat and hammers, you will mold and shape the metal. This process is quite unlike woodworking, in which you can remove material and glue pieces together, but cannot squish and stretch. Mark Teece is an accomplished blacksmith and former college chemistry professor. His teaching style melds well with Hammerstone’s. Mark gives instruction when needed, and is supportive as students experiment and test the boundaries of materials and tools while they work. Students under 18 may attend with parental permission.
