Description
Escape the heat and head to San Diego for the day! We’ll enjoy a scenic drive south along the coast aboard our motorcoach and then time at leisure for browsing and lunch on your own at the waterfront shops and restaurants at Seaport Village and The Headquarters at Seaport Village. This afternoon we’ll get an up-close and in-depth view of San Diego's scenic beauty on a two-hour bay cruise. Take advantage of countless spectacular photo opportunities of the San Diego skyline, U.S. Navy ships, North Island Naval Air Station, Point Loma Submarine Base, historic tall ships and playful sea lions as we cruise both the northern and southern ends of San Diego Bay and under the iconic Coronado Bridge. Onboard narration will provide local anecdotes and fascinating history that connects San Diego’s past, present and future while you sit back and enjoy this relaxing cruise that provides a unique perspective of “America’s Finest City.” The large and comfortable boat features three levels with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, 360-degree views, restrooms, and an onboard snack bar serving snacks, sodas, beer, and wine. Following the cruise, we’ll step aboard Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner train and enjoy Business Class seating as we travel north from San Diego’s Santa Fe Depot, enjoying the spectacular ocean views along this protected stretch of coastline. We’ll reboard the motorcoach in San Juan Capistrano to continue our journey to our drop-off points. Each guest should bring a driver’s license or other government-issued photo identification to present to Amtrak on the day of the tour if requested. While a rare occurrence, should the Pacific Surfliner train be canceled by Amtrak, each guest will be refunded the train portion. An additional guest pick-up (enroute to the destination) may be made to ensure a minimum number of guests and guarantee this departure.
