Learn the basics of engraving using a common Styrofoam plate. Students will draw a design on the plate using a hard pencil or pen, gouging lines into it. Water-based inks are then rolled onto the plate and paper is pressed on top. Wherever lines were cut into the plate, the ink doesn't penetrate, leaving you with an engraving. Students will have fun experimenting with different colored inks and drawing various designs.
