Do you know what Gyotaku is? Come and explore the historical and cultural qualities of Gyotaku, the traditional Japanese method of printing fish. Learn and experience firsthand the direct method, or chokusetsu-ho, by first inking a fish and then gently pressing the paper into it. Then, while your print is drying, create a three-dimensional fish using paper, cutting techniques, and a bit of glue! This new series is presented by the Mazza Museum at the University of Findlay. There will be different presenters for each session, and it is geared to individuals K-Adult. Mazza Museum is the world's largest collection of original artwork by children's book illustrators. The Museum's goal is to promote literacy and enrich the lives of all people through the art of picture books. No pre-registration is required. This program is included with your Lakeside Chautauqua Gate Pass.
