Kevin Leonard from The Laurel History Boys will share the remarkable story of Laurel’s centennial celebration in 1970—an extraordinary display of community involvement. Spanning eight days, the event was organized by a Who’s Who of the Laurel business community, featured activities throughout the city, and raised tens of thousands of dollars from eager local sponsors. Most impressively, it culminated in a massive stage production about Laurel’s history, starring nearly 400 residents.
