If you are at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer, you can become an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. This course will help you teach skills that may save a life, gain terrific work experience as an aquatics professional and earn money while you help people learn valuable skills. Candidates must be able to swim strokes at a Red Cross level 4 competency. All classes must be attended and course pre-requisites must be completed before class starts, no exceptions. Students are required to either buy, download or print out their own manuals.

Participants must attend all classes and complete all requirements to receive certification. Please review the following guidelines before registering.

• After registering for the program, participants will receive an email with a link to the specific American Red Cross website where they will complete the on-line portion of the certification.
• The on-line portion of the program must be completed before the first in-person session
• Participants need to bring their own towel, water bottle and packed lunch
