Description
A sound bath is a deeply immersive full body meditative experience that uses therapeutic sound waves and vibrations from crystal singing bowls and/or other varieties of sound instruments. It is an ancient practice designed to bring deep states of calm and relaxation. Some studies suggest significant beneficial effects on a number of markers related to well-being. The results have shown that this form of meditation may have the capacity to lower blood pressure and heart rate, thus having the potential benefits of cardiovascular health through stress reduction. Participants will be “bathed” in sound waves as they lie in a comfortable position on a yoga mat in a relaxing space. Participants are welcome to bring their own mats, blankets, pillows, etc. to help support their experience or use the supports we provide (use of essential oils will be optional). The room will be quiet and dimly lit allowing for individuals to explore self-awareness and foster a sense of well-being.
