The Adult Level 1 program covers basic sculling skills and is appropriate for participants who a) have little or no rowing experience OR b) who have only rowed in sweep shells (one oar) and who want to learn the beautiful two-oared craft of sculling. This ten-week series covers sculling fundamentals, including technique, equipment, navigation, and more. Shell selection will tend toward stable boats such as quads (four-person), doubles (two-person), and tubby singles (flat bottom) to encourage confidence and proper technique.
