CHOREOGRAPHY CLASS (Middle/High School) Choreography Lab; Grades 6–12 Dates: Sept. 8–Oct. 20, 2025 (Monday evenings) Class Details: Mondays: 6–8 pm (Sept. 8 – Oct. 20; 7 total classes: six classes & 10/20 performance date) Location: Black Box Theatre, CenterStage Join performer, choreographer and seasoned CSTC staff member Molly Fickes in a dynamic Choreography Lab designed for students in grades 6-12 (*with instructor permission for those outside this range). This intensive class focuses on developing skills in learning, creating, and performing choreography, culminating in a showcase on the final day. Key Learning Objectives: • Weekly Exploration: Each week, students will dive into new pieces of choreography across various styles, expanding their dance repertoire and artistic expression. • Fast-Paced Learning: Enhance the ability to pick up choreography quickly through structured exercises and practical application in a supportive environment. • Performance Quality: Refine techniques to improve overall performance quality, including dynamics, emotion, and stage presence. • Creative Expression: Encourage creativity by providing opportunities for students to create and teach their own choreography, fostering leadership skills and artistic innovation. Prerequisites: Students should have a passion for dance and a willingness to collaborate and learn in a group setting. Outside of the specified grade range (6th-12th), admission may be granted with instructor permission based on skill level and commitment.
