International Cultures Club is both a place for both international students to adapt to the American high school experience, and a place for all students to share each other's cultural backgrounds, and engage in fun games. In previous years, we've discussed different culture's perceptions on time, relationships to relatives, comfortable social distance, etc. One of the fun experiments we do every year is testing the most comfortable social distance between people, both regular talking and blind-folded. Other activities include the telephone game in different languages, where we try to pronounce foreign languages and pass them down, until the last person tries to interpret the "messed up" version. We also do board games and card games from different cultures, and trivia/kahoots on the world. This year, we also plan to look deeper into Washington DC as a city of international cultures, finding more opportunities to experience the world just minutes away from us.
