The Chinese Arts and Crafts Club invites students to explore the rich traditions, arts, and games of Chinese culture through fun and hands-on experiences. Each week, members will be introduced to a new cultural activity—ranging from traditional crafts to musical instruments and classic games. Sessions begin with a brief look into the historical background of the activity, followed by a guided, interactive project. Planned activities include calligraphy, paper cutting, kuaiban (bamboo clappers), knot weaving, shadow puppetry, stamping and rubbing, origami, sand painting, and gomoku (a five-in-a-row strategy game). Our experienced club leaders will guide students through each activity, offering support and insight along the way. Later in the year, we’ll poll members to gather interest in new cultural topics and traditions, which we’ll incorporate into future sessions.
