This blended learning course includes an online class and an in-person skills session. The online class duration is approximately 7 hours and must be completed prior to the onsite training. Lifeguard training provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness. The online link will be sent to participants 8-10 days prior to the first date of class. Certification is NOT guaranteed. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/ CPR/AED valid for two years. Successful participants will be eligible for employment within the CE & Rec Aquatics Department.
