At the Y, swimming is a life skill. Our swim lessons prepare kids of all ages to stay safe and have fun in the water, building strong swimmers and confident kids. With skills such as, back floats, front crawl, and more. We will look for children to comfortably and consistently perform each skill in order to progress to the next stage. In our Carls SWIMS Outreach program, we bring these skills directly to the community through grant funded lessons at manufactured home communities to remove barriers to receiving life saving skills in a fun and engaging manner. Volunteers help us in making our cause happen, with multiple roles available, from swim instructor and lifeguard, to administration and deck management.

We hold all volunteers regardless of service project, to the highest possible standards. We require volunteers that are working with youth to be screened regularly and sign a code of conduct. All volunteers will be monitored when interacting with program participants. We rake any inappropriate interactions between program participants and with volunteers very seriously and will fully cooperate with authorities in any case of abuse.
