Jazz emerged in the early 20th century as a genre rooted in creativity and emotional expression. By the 1930s and 1940s, big bands and crooners began recording holiday music, blending festive cheer with the swing and sophistication of jazz. GreenSpring Academy of Music presents saxophonist Suzi Fischer and guitarist Chris Ryan celebrating the holidays with the sounds of jazz.

Suzi and Chris have been playing together both as a duo, in larger bands, and at GreenSpring Academy of Music for 15 years. Spanning genres including jazz, pop, R&B, and folk, they enjoy sharing their love of classics with audiences of all ages. Graduates of VCU’s School of Music, they enjoy crafting unique programs that offer something familiar for everyone. Yuletide luncheon provided by Brookdale Senior Living.
Celebrating the organization’s 25th Anniversary, GreenSpring International Academy of Music has welcomed thousands of students to develop, enjoy, and share their musical talents. GreenSpring is recognized nationally as a premier classically based music school that offers individual lessons, music classes, harp ensembles, choirs, chamber groups, a chamber orchestra, touring ensembles, and summer programming to students of all ages and levels.
