California a-g + NCAA approved. Open to rising 8th-12th graders. Each term represents a single semester of 5 credits. Both terms must be taken for a full year of 10 credits. The basic concepts of biology are introduced: cell theory, genetics, evolution, the animal and plant kingdom, ecology and behavior. These topics are presented by means of lecture, class discussions, and selected laboratory experiments. Textbook: Biology, Prentice Hall (0-13-036701-X)
