This camp is a full day training camp from 9-4 for TRCamp Sr. students in grades 8-12 who are learning new skills to participate successfully in the upcoming FTC season: FIRST Decode. Day 1: Introduction to Robotics and REV DUO Kick off the camp with an exciting introduction to the world of robotics! Participants will get hands-on experience with the REV DUO robotics kit, learning about its components and basic assembly. The day will conclude with an overview of the FIRST Tech Challenge, its goals, and the importance of teamwork and innovation. Day 2: Building the Foundation On the second day, campers will dive deeper into the mechanics of robotics. They'll work in teams to build the chassis and drive system of their robots using the REV DUO kit. This session will emphasize the principles of engineering design and problem-solving. Day 3: Programming and Control Day three is all about bringing the robots to life! Participants will learn the basics of programming using the REV DUO control system. They'll write and test code to control their robots' movements, gaining an understanding of how software and hardware interact. Day 4: Advanced Robotics and Strategy As the camp progresses, campers will explore more advanced robotics concepts. They'll add sensors and other components to their robots, learning how to enhance their functionality. The day will also include a session on strategy and game rules for the FIRST Tech Challenge, preparing teams for the final day. Day 5: Competition Day The final day is the highlight of the camp! Teams will put their robots to the test in a friendly competition modeled after the FIRST Tech Challenge. They'll showcase their engineering skills, creativity, and teamwork as they navigate their robots through various challenges. The camp will conclude with an awards ceremony, celebrating the achievements of all participants.
