Students will examine key engineering concepts, including: Catapults Mechanics Strength analysis Engineering Design Cycle Friction Through five interactive lab projects, students will design, test, and refine their creations: Creating Catapults – Build and test catapults for accuracy, then design a game around them. Creating Rolling Vehicles – Experiment with paper racers and enhance their speed with balloon propulsion. Creating Truss Bridges – Construct, extend, and test the weight-bearing capacity of truss bridges. Creating Inventions – Apply the engineering design process to build a simple elevator and tractor pull, then develop an original invention. Creating Friction Climbers – Explore how friction works by engineering a climbing mechanism that defies gravity.
