Description
Take your kayaking to the next level by learning a variety of rescues with certified paddling instructors. We will demonstrate and practice self rescues as well as cooperative rescues. Learn about the different types of kayaks and what makes some easier to enter from the water than others.
We will have time to try all our safety rescue equipment, and there is the option to bring your own boat to see how you and your own kayak perform in various scenarios.
Dress for immersion with shoes and clothes that can get wet. Don’t forget to pack sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and water. Previous kayaking experience is required as instruction will focus on rescues not basic paddling skills. Whalon Lake has trailer parking and a paved boat launch.
Ages 16 and older.
