About this event
The phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains patient blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the health care system. Classroom and clinical experience include medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods. Class includes the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomist Technician (CPT) exam. Clinical experience for this class is held at Bridgton Hospital in Bridgton, Maine. Participants are required to pre-register through attendance at an in-person information session. See the listings for September 9th and 11th. The cost of the course is $700; financial assistance is available for participants who qualify.
