In our Podcasting class, students will dive into the exciting world of audio storytelling, where they will learn how to create, record, and edit their very own podcasts with our teacher, a radio and podcast professional with more than 15 years of experience. Working in groups, students will collaborate on brainstorming ideas, researching topics, writing scripts, and developing a unique voice for their podcasts. They’ll explore the technical side of podcast production, including sound editing, microphone techniques, and using software to produce polished episodes. Along the way, students will learn about the art of storytelling, interviewing, and engaging an audience through compelling audio. By the end of the course, students will have created a finished podcast ready to share with the world, and will have gained valuable skills in teamwork, creativity, and digital media production. Students will need a laptop computer or iPad they can use to record themselves and a pair of basic headphones. You will also need audio editing software like Adobe Audition, although a free tool like Audacity will also work. (The Curve will also have some computers available for loan as needed.) Podcasting projects may involve students doing some interviewing/recording outside of class. Teacher: Rebecca Stone
