Pack your imagination and appetite for a trip to Italy—no passport required! In this one-day workshop for K–2nd grade students, Ms. Val Smith, beloved art teacher at the Curve, will guide students through a joyful exploration of Italian culture through art and cooking. In the kitchen, students will prepare and enjoy simple, delicious Italian favorites: Caprese skewers with fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and basil, and a classic pasta dish they help create. In the art studio, students will learn about Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani and create their own Modigliani-inspired self-portraits, using his unique elongated style to express themselves. It’s a fun-filled day of creativity, flavor, and cultural discovery—perfect for young artists and chefs ready to explore the world through their senses! **All workshops will include a break for lunch and outside/inside play with friends.
