A figure sculpting class focused on the torso. Through study of this central core of the human body, this class will enable students to capture the structure and expressive gesture of the figure. Working in clay from a live model, students will develop the skills of seeing, understanding, and reproducing the human form in all its complexities. We will focus on close visual observation to help us analyze and sculpt what we see. Completed torso figures will be fired.
