Weekly Photography Club Teacher: Terrence Sanders-Smith Weekly on Wednesdays 3:30-5 PM Photography Class: Points of View Introduction and Education: Photography's history and work from the best photographers in their respective fields. "Photography tells stories and can convey messages that words cannot. A single image can capture complex emotions, cultural moments, or beauty in everyday life. This ability to communicate visually makes photography a compelling art form." List of Great Photographers: Ansel Adams for landscape photography Henri Cartier-Bresson for street photography and photojournalism, Annie Leibovitz for celebrity portraiture, Dorothea Lange for documentary photography. Diane Arbus (portraiture), Robert Capa (war photography), and Sebastião Salgado (social documentary). and Philip-Lorca diCorcia (documentary and theatrical) and Jamel Shabazz (street photography). Curriculum 1. What's the concept? 2. What story do you want to tell and why? 3. What's your subject matter? 4. How do you visualize shooting the subject? 5. Color or black and white? Portrait or landscape? Focus or soft focus? 5. Can you photograph the subject? Is the subject accessible? 7. Schedule an on or off location photo shoot. 8. Photograph the subject. 9. Analyzing the photo. 10. Post production on images: cropping, and color. 11. Print the image: matte, lustre or gloss and paper selections.
