07. 2021: FIRST LOOK AT A MILESTONE VINTAGE (Thursday, May 8) Celebrated and pioneering winemaker Telmo Rodríguez has famously defined 2021 as no less than the best year he has ever seen in the history of Rioja, surpassing the previous two vintages to match the quality of 2018 and 2016. 2021 also shows unusual concentration in Ribera del Duero and in Toro, with some added elegance in the latter. It is also poised to be a very good to excellent vintage in all other major wine areas of Spain, from Bierzo and Galicia to Priorat and Jumilla. In this tasting we will have a first look at this extremely promising year.
